Movendos joined the finals of EIT Digital Wellbeing category among nine European companies on 24.11.2016 in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Three winners were chosen to continue cooperation with EIT Digital. Movendos wasn’t among those three companies, but is honored for having the chance to join the finals. EIT Digital is one of the focus areas in EIT (European Institute of Innovation & Technology).
During the final pitching trip to Eindhoven Movendos got interesting contacts like service provider customers in Netherlands for further purposes. In addition to proceeding with these new contacts, Movendos is focusing on the strong growth in Finland and on developing the wellness assessment, coaching and video call platform further on.
The message from Eindhoven and all the discussions was clear: Movendos is doing the right thing with the right focus and there were no companies offering same kind of solutions in the finals. Based on the feedback Movendos had a good pitch raising interest and being positively different from others.
The winners of the Digital Wellbeing category were specific solutions for focused health related challenges. The first prize went to Austrian company called Blitab, which has developed a tablet for blind people. We are really happy for Blitab team, because they have been working on a challenge which has been waiting for new solutions for a very long time. There is a huge amount of blind people globally, who can benefit from this concrete innovation improving their social wellbeing and digital inclusion.
The second and third positions went to companies FibriCheck and Amiko. FibriCheck is a Belgian company, which has created a solution to detect cardiovascular arrhythmia via a smartphone app. Amiko Digital Health Limited from UK develops digital care solutions for patients with chronic respiratory conditions, combining both sensor technology, smart monitoring and personalized medication management.
